Envision a Workplace that Enjoys Diversity and Grows Tenfold
Businesses in India, small or big, have over the past the decade started to grow concerns for hiring diverse human resources. Though some of them have sincerely strategized and commenced the recruitment of women candidates and persons with disabilities, there is still a long, long road ahead of India as a nation to successfully get in place a thriving diverse workforce in public and private sectors.
The statistics speak that India houses about 1.3 crore persons with disabilities of which only 25 percent have been able to seek employment which implies more than 70% of unutilized potent talent. That is so because companies havenāt yet structured and adhered to a hiring plan that would cater to the same. Observing this scenario, we need to workout solutions for companies across all business categories.Ā
That the current employment affairs offer persons-with-disabilities with pretty less opportunities to make a dignified living and hence PwDsā attitude remains to grab any chance they can at it. This inturn increases their loyalty to the corporation that takes them in causing higher retention rates over their able counterparts. And this is the advantage that we need our clientele to recognize and benefit from.
Originally, diversity inclusion was wrongly viewed as a dull routine norm that any company should follow so as to keep their market reputation tidy and honorable. But with the advent of companies that promote DnI hiring a whole perspective shift occurred and workplace diversity began to be viewed as an integral part of the workforce. Inclusive and equitable, the words started appearing prominently in the dictionary of the HRs. Today the entire asia pacific is feeling a change in the air in terms of closing gender pay gaps, including persons with varied abilities and ethnicities and even encouraging persons across the entire gender spectrum. This was long awaited and now that it has begun to take shape, we intend totally to keep it and keep making it better.
Dedicated hiring portals will help. With right hiring portals not just regular recruitment will be met with tailored solutions but diversity inclusion goals will be met too. Portals will help recruiters by equipping them with the right tools, skills and knowledge to expand their diversity inclusion vision without ever thinking of it as a high-risk measure.
In fact some of the companies out there have even initiated incentivizing their human resource for referrals to encourage PwD hiring. So summarily, a large, untapped pool of PwD and female talents exists and we can do much in our might to bridge the gap between organizations and that very pool and help gain momentum with the new changes. By enhancing awareness, building infrastructure, developing a safe atmosphere and integrating the current workforce with the new one, together we will be able to redesign recruitment for a better future.
So letās join hands together and aim at the times when diversity would have set deep roots in workplace environments with full operational capacity!
